Kalamkaar’s Rap Reality Show ‘Legacy’ Partners With ZEE5 For Exclusive Early Access

India’s rap reality show Legacy, created by Ankita Khanna, KR$NA and Raftaar in collaboration with SVF Entertainment, has announced ZEE5 as its streaming partner.

Under the new partnership, Legacy will stream every Tuesday and Friday at 7 PM exclusively on ZEE5, while episodes will also continue to be released on the Kalamkaar Music YouTube channel. ZEE5 subscribers will get access to each episode approximately 40 hours before its YouTube release. The finale, Episode 17, will be available exclusively on ZEE5.

Built around the discovery and development of India’s next generation of hip-hop talent, Legacy focuses on lyricism, originality, storytelling, artistic growth and authenticity rather than popularity alone. The series brings together emerging rappers from across the country and provides them with a platform to sharpen their craft.

Since its premiere, the show has recorded strong audience engagement, with episodes consistently garnering 850,000 to over 1 million views on the Kalamkaar Music YouTube channel.

Ankit Khanna, Co-founder, Kalamkaar, said the partnership reflects the label’s focus on building artists and creating opportunities with long-term impact. He added that ZEE5’s involvement would help take Legacy and its vision to a wider audience while contributing to India’s independent music ecosystem.

Commenting on the collaboration, KR$NA said Legacy aims to provide a platform for artists who respect the craft and are willing to push themselves, while Raftaar highlighted the show’s focus on skill, hunger and originality over numbers and popularity.

Beyond the competition, Legacy explores the realities of building a career in music through rap battles, creative challenges, performances and candid conversations. The series has also featured guest judges including Ikka and Raghav Juyal.

With its expanded streaming partnership, Legacy continues its effort to discover and amplify the voices shaping the future of Indian hip-hop.
