The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) has launched a special music outreach initiative across educational institutions in Kashmir, aimed at nurturing young talent and strengthening students' engagement with the region's rich musical heritage.
The programme will bring music-based activities, performances and interactive sessions to schools and colleges across the Valley, creating greater exposure to both traditional and contemporary musical forms. The initiative is designed to encourage artistic expression among students while fostering a deeper appreciation for Kashmir's cultural legacy.
Officials said the campaign seeks to identify emerging talent at the grassroots level and provide students with opportunities to interact with established musicians and cultural practitioners. Through workshops, live performances and educational sessions, the drive aims to make music a more integral part of the learning experience.
The initiative forms part of JKAACL's broader efforts to promote art, culture and creative education among young people. By taking music directly into educational institutions, the academy hopes to inspire greater participation in the arts while preserving and celebrating the region's diverse musical traditions.
The programme is expected to be rolled out across multiple districts in Kashmir, with students from schools, colleges and other educational institutions set to participate in the cultural and musical activities.
JKAACL officials noted that empowering young people through music and cultural engagement remains central to the academy's mission of preserving Kashmir's artistic heritage while encouraging the next generation of creators and performers.
