GTC Network Resumes Gurbani Telecast From Golden Temple After Brief Halt

GTC Network has resumed the live telecast of Gurbani from the Golden Temple after briefly halting the broadcast following concerns raised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

The interruption lasted only a few minutes, following which the channel restored the telecast after receiving an overwhelming number of calls from devotees and viewers. The Gurbani broadcast continues daily as per its scheduled timings.

In a video message, Dr Rabindra Narayan, Founder and Managing Director of GTC Network, said the channel was deeply moved by the response from viewers and their sentiments towards the telecast.

“We stopped the telecast briefly for a few minutes, but our phone lines were flooded with calls from devout viewers. Considering their sentiments and devotion, we had to resume it,” Narayan said, reiterating that the Gurbani broadcast would continue as per its regular schedule.

Narayan also highlighted the accessibility of the Golden Temple’s Gurbani telecast through GTC Punjabi on DD Free Dish. According to him, the feed was previously not available to DD Free Dish viewers, particularly during the evening hours.

“Through GTC Punjabi, it has become accessible to them, particularly during the evening hours. DD Free Dish largely serves rural and economically weaker sections of society, who were previously unable to watch the telecast,” he said.

The brief interruption came after objections from the SGPC regarding the re-telecast of its official Gurbani feed. However, GTC Network maintained that its decision to restore the broadcast was driven by the strong response from devotees.

Narayan reiterated that GTC Network’s objective is to make Gurbani accessible to the global Sangat and that the telecast is being carried as a spiritual service, without any commercial or vested interest.

The network has now resumed the Gurbani telecast, which will continue to be available to viewers according to its scheduled programming.
