Tips Films and Tips Music have joined hands with actor Emraan Hashmi for his upcoming musical horror film Rooh, bringing together film production and music under one banner. The project is slated for a theatrical release in 2027 across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu markets.
Led by Kumar Taurani, the association marks a reunion between Tips and Hashmi, whose first film, Footpath (2003), was also produced by the company. Directed by Mayank Sharma and written by Vishal Kapoor and Sharma, Rooh is positioned as a theatrical experience combining horror, romance and music.
The film will be presented by Tips Films and produced under the banner of A Vicked Films Production. Kumar Taurani, Girissh Kumar, Vikram Khakhar and Sunny Khanna are the producers, while Vikas Sahni is attached as co-producer. Tips Music will handle the film's music.
Commenting on the collaboration, Kumar Taurani said, “The association with Emraan is special, as we were also the producers on his debut film Footpath (2003). Over the years, we have had many memorable successes across several films and with Rooh, we are excited to recreate that magic once again. I am also excited to collaborate with Sunny Khanna and Vikram Khakhar on this project and we look forward to bringing the compelling experience of a theatrical film back to the audiences.”
Emraan Hashmi said, “Collaborating with Kumar ji on this film feels serendipitous. Music has always been an integral part of how audiences connect with my films. With Rooh, we want music that captures the soul of the film, which is deeply romantic, haunting and rooted by emotion.”
Vikram Khakhar, Producer, Vicked Films Productions, said the association with Tips Films and Tips Music marks a significant milestone for the project. He added that the team aims to bring an immersive theatrical horror experience to audiences in 2027.
Sunny Khanna, Producer, said the collaboration brings together the legacy of Tips across the film and music industries, particularly for a project where music plays an integral role in the storytelling.
Hashmi has previously been associated with horror films including Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Raaz 3: The Third Dimension and Ek Thi Daayan. With Rooh, the actor returns to the genre in a story that places music and emotion at the centre of its narrative.
The film is directed by Mayank Sharma, known for the Breathe franchise, and will release theatrically across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu markets in 2027.
