District, the going-out platform, and Airtel have announced a collaboration to strengthen the live entertainment infrastructure in India, with the 16-acre open-air concert venue in Bengaluru set to be renamed Airtel Arena.
Under the partnership, District will continue to manage the on-ground experience for fans, artists and event organisers, while Airtel will invest in dedicated digital infrastructure to improve connectivity and enhance the overall concert experience.
The collaboration aims to address the growing importance of seamless connectivity at large-scale live events, where audiences increasingly rely on mobile networks for livestreaming performances, sharing content, making digital payments and staying connected throughout concerts.
Airtel's investment will include dedicated high-capacity digital infrastructure designed to deliver reliable, high-speed connectivity during peak demand. The upgrades will complement the venue's existing mobile pre-order and cashless top-up facilities, with enhancements expected ahead of the upcoming event season.
Commenting on the partnership, Rahul Ganjoo, CEO, District, said, “India has fewer than ten purpose-built venues that can host more than 10,000 people. The live entertainment industry has outgrown that base, and the shortfall is now the single biggest constraint on what fans here get to experience. The industry needs more collaborations of the kind Airtel has committed to: brands from the wider ecosystem identifying where the foundations need investment, and putting capital behind closing the gap. That is what it will take to deliver world-class experiences to fans in India.”
Suchita Salwan, Chief Customer Officer, Airtel, said, “At Airtel, we believe great experiences are built on great connectivity. As live entertainment continues to evolve in India, seamless digital experiences have become an integral part of every concert, from sharing moments in real time and making digital payments to simply staying connected with friends and family. Powered by Airtel's advanced 5G network and digital infrastructure, our partnership with District reflects our commitment to solving these everyday customer needs while enhancing the overall fan experience.”
K Vasudeva Udupa, Founder Director, Go-Golf Entertainment LLP, added, “We built this venue with an intent to provide attendees in India a world-class live experience, and give organisers, promoters and artists an efficient one to work within. Every design decision, from the modular stage to the service roads built for backstage logistics, was made guided by that same intent. With District shaping the experience on-ground and Airtel now investing in its digital infrastructure, is exactly the kind of collaboration that helps us build on that foundation.”
The venue was developed by Go-Golf Entertainment LLP as a production-ready destination for large-scale live events, with modular infrastructure aimed at reducing setup time and production costs for organisers. It has a capacity of over 17,000 people and has previously hosted performances by artists including Arijit Singh, Anirudh Ravichander and Bryan Adams.
Among its facilities are a modular main stage built to international production standards, a dedicated artist village and backstage area, an 80-foot box office, and parking capacity for 4,500 cars and 1,000 two-wheelers. The venue also features dedicated service roads for emergency access and backstage logistics.
The District-Airtel partnership marks an effort to combine live entertainment operations with digital infrastructure as India's concert and events ecosystem continues to expand.
