Amaal Mallik To Compose For ‘Awarapan 2’, Reunites With Rashmi Virag After A Decade

Music composer-singer Amaal Mallik has confirmed that he is working on a song for Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi. The track will also mark his reunion with lyricist Rashmi Virag after nearly a decade.

The trio has previously delivered popular hits such as Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon and Bol Do Na Zara, both of which continue to resonate strongly with listeners.

The development was first reported by Variety India, following which Amaal shared his excitement on social media, calling the project a “dream fulfilment.” He also hinted that the film could mark his first full soundtrack collaboration with Vishesh Films, a banner he has aspired to work with since his teenage years.

Amaal expressed gratitude to producer Mukesh Bhatt for his faith, while admitting that composing for Emraan Hashmi comes with added pressure given the actor’s strong musical legacy on screen. The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar.

Interestingly, Amaal revealed that he was just 16 when the original Awarapan released, making this collaboration a long-awaited milestone. “It’s been my dream since the age of 16 to work with the Bhatts… now it’s finally becoming a reality with Awarapan 2,” he said.

The film is slated to hit cinemas on August 14, 2026, during the Independence Day weekend, and will see Emraan Hashmi reprise his role as Shivam Pandit. At the box office, it is expected to clash with Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
