As Navratri begins, entrepreneur and independent music artist Ajay Bijli has released Hey Maa, a seven-track devotional album celebrating the Divine Mother and her many forms. The album features four devotional songs and three sacred mantras, bringing together faith, gratitude and Bijli’s passion for music.
Following his music debut with On Another Note…, Bijli explores devotional music through a collection of songs that combine soulful prayers with expressions of faith. The four devotional tracks feature Bijli’s vocals, compositions by Shekhar Ravjiani and lyrics by Priya Saraiya. The song Maa Saraswati also features additional vocals by Nayana Bijli.
Speaking about the release, Ajay Bijli said, “For me, music is a way to express feelings that come straight from the heart. With Hey Maa, I wanted to bring my love for music and my faith together in a way that feels deeply personal. Singing these devotional songs has been a special experience, allowing me to express my gratitude and devotion through music. As we celebrate Navratri, I hope these songs touch people’s hearts, become a part of their prayers and celebrations, and bring them a sense of peace and joy.”
The album’s four devotional songs explore different dimensions of devotion. Dhanya Dhanya is a prayer seeking the Mother’s forgiveness, strength and blessings, while the title track, Hey Maa, invokes the Divine Mother in her various forms, including Jag Janani, Aadi Bhawani and Shiv Shakti.
Jai Ambe celebrates the Mother’s strength, beauty and compassion, while Maa Saraswati, featuring Nayana Bijli’s additional vocals, seeks wisdom, clarity, truth and the grace of music.
The album also includes three sacred mantras rooted in spiritual traditions. The Gayatri Mantra invokes divine light and wisdom, while Ya Devi honours the Divine Feminine as a source of strength, abundance, compassion and creation. Om Sarva Mangala seeks the Mother’s blessings for protection, harmony, well-being and fulfilment.
With Hey Maa, Bijli adds a devotional dimension to his musical pursuits, bringing together his vocals and compositions for listeners during the Navratri season.
