Inspired by Aabha Hanjura's personal experience, A decade ago, visiting her childhood home in Kashmir, Aabha was moved to tears. This experience laid the foundation for "Mere Makaan."

The renowned jazz pianist Aman Mahajan and cellist Jacob Charkey lend their talents to this cathartic composition, with Mr. KJ Singh, an award-winning music producer and audio engineer, expertly weaving the elements together.

The "Songs Of Home" tour, a showcase of Aabha's recent work, has garnered acclaim across the country, gracing renowned venues including the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

Aabha, reflecting on the song, shared, "For me Mere Makaan is my most special work so far because this song comes from a deeply honest place as an artist.Musically I’ve dived into a whole new realm with this single & it explores a previously untouched side of my songwriting .Mere Makaan is poetry of displacement, it’s my story and one that I hope resonates with everyone who misses their home.While, I’ve never found an answer to what the IDEA OF HOME means to me even 33 years lateri hope this song can provide catharsis to those who like me struggled have struggled with the idea of Home.”
