Singer-Songwriters To Celebrate Bappa Mazumder's Musical Legacy At Tribute Concert

A group of Bangladeshi singer-songwriters is set to pay tribute to acclaimed musician Bappa Mazumder at a special concert celebrating his enduring influence on contemporary Bengali music. The event will bring together artists who have drawn inspiration from Mazumder's songwriting and distinctive musical style, performing some of his most beloved compositions alongside selections from their own catalogues.

The tribute concert, titled "Ekdin Brishtite Bikele…", will feature performances by Joy Shahriar, Ahmed Hasan Sunny and Shuvro. While honouring Mazumder's body of work, the artists will also showcase original songs inspired by his legacy, reflecting the impact he has had on Bangladesh's singer-songwriter movement.

Speaking about the event, Joy Shahriar described Mazumder as one of the most influential figures for singer-songwriters in Bangladesh, alongside artists such as Anjan Dutt, Kabir Suman and Nachiketa Chakraborty. Ahmed Hasan Sunny added that Mazumder's music had shaped an entire generation of musicians and called it a privilege to perform in a concert dedicated to his work.

Organised by Ajob Karkhana, the concert is scheduled to take place on July 31 at Butternote Café in Banani, Dhaka, with the main programme beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are available in early bird and regular categories.
