Percept Live Launches ‘Aaj Ka Scene’ Hip-Hop IP In Mumbai

Percept Live has announced the launch of ‘Aaj Ka Scene’, a new original intellectual property centred on hip-hop, street culture and emerging talent. The debut edition will be held on October 31 and November 1, 2026, at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, Mumbai.

Positioned as more than a music festival, Aaj Ka Scene will bring together rap, beatboxing, breaking, dance, graffiti, streetwear and creator culture across two days. The property will feature live performances, competitions, workshops, creator interactions, games and immersive experiences.

The debut edition will feature Sambata on October 31 and Karma on November 1. While Sambata will bring his rap style and connection with Mumbai’s underground hip-hop scene, Karma will headline the second day with his lyricism and storytelling.

A key focus of the IP is talent discovery. Aaj Ka Scene will host competitions across Rap, Dance, Beatboxing, DJing and B-Boying, giving emerging performers an opportunity to showcase their skills alongside established artists.

The talent hunt will begin digitally, with aspiring performers invited to submit a two-minute video. Shortlisted participants will compete at the festival, with winners receiving opportunities to collaborate with established artists and be considered for performances at future events.

The DJ category will have Pioneer as its partner, while the judging panel will include professionals from hip-hop, rap, DJing, beatboxing, dance and B-Boying.

Beyond the stage, the festival will feature experience zones, games, food and beverage experiences, on-ground activations and creator-led engagement. Percept Live also plans to extend the property through college outreach, contests and youth-focused digital initiatives.

Nikhil Uniyal, Business Head, Percept Live, said, “Aaj Ka Scene is our way of giving Mumbai’s hip-hop community a stage that matches the scale of its talent. This isn’t just a festival, it’s a platform where the next generation of artists, dancers and creators get to be seen, heard and celebrated on their own terms.”

He added that the company aims to develop Aaj Ka Scene into a larger cultural movement, with plans to take the IP to hip-hop communities across India and create a regional artist platform.

Sonal Shah, Head – Brand Partnership and Sponsorship Sales, Percept Live, said the IP is designed to create opportunities for youth brands to engage with audiences through music, street culture, creativity and talent discovery.

Aaj Ka Scene is presented in association with Breezer Bold as Co-Presenting Partner and No Nazar as Official Style Partner.

The Mumbai edition will run from 1 PM to 10 PM on both days. Tickets are priced between Rs. 799 and Rs. 2,499 and are available through Sort My Scene.

With its focus on live music, competitions and emerging artists, Aaj Ka Scene marks Percept Live’s entry into a dedicated hip-hop cultural format, with the company looking to build the property across cities in future editions.
