CULTR SHIFT Brings Curated Electronic Music Lineup To Kovalam

Kappa CULTR, South India's electronic music festival, is expanding its live entertainment portfolio with the launch of a new festival format, CULTR SHIFT. The inaugural edition will take place on November 21 and 22, 2026, at The Leela, Kovalam, Kerala.

Designed as a more intimate two-day experience, the new festival format will combine electronic music, art, curated food experiences and interactive activities against the backdrop of the Arabian Sea.

The inaugural edition will feature performances by Biar, Sound Therapy, Racing Nokia, Anushka, Prismer, Groove Depot, Syeyl, Vridian, Tasnneem and Calm Chor.

Unlike its flagship festival format, CULTR SHIFT aims to create a more immersive setting where audiences can connect through music and culture while experiencing the coastal surroundings of Kovalam.

The choice of The Leela, Kovalam, is central to the concept, with the venue's coastal landscape and hospitality setting designed to complement the festival's musical and cultural programming.

Commenting on the launch, Mayura Shreyams Kumar, Festival Founder, Kappa CULTR, said, “CULTR SHIFT is a natural evolution of the Kappa CULTR universe. While our flagship festival brings the community together on a larger scale, this new format allows us to explore a more intimate, immersive way of experiencing electronic music and culture.”

She added that Kovalam marks the first destination in the festival's expansion into new formats and experiences.

Devika Shreyams Kumar, Festival Founder, Kappa CULTR, said, “CULTR SHIFT is about taking the CULTR experience into new spaces and letting the setting shape what we create. Kovalam felt like the perfect place to start , the coast, the atmosphere and the setting give us a chance to do something completely different, while still keeping the energy and quality that defines CULTR.”

With CULTR SHIFT, Kappa CULTR is looking to extend its festival community beyond its flagship event through destination-led experiences and new formats of electronic music programming.

Early-bird tickets for the inaugural edition are now available through the festival's official website.
