Top 5 Artists To Look Out For in 2020
Now that 2020 is upon us, there are a lot of promising artists from 2019 that we believe will have a lot more to offer this year! If you haven't checked them out, you must! Hanita Bhambri After making her debut in 2018, Delhi based singer/song-writer could not have possibly imagined what the next year had in store for her. Starting with an opportunity of performing live with the incredible Damien Rice, Hanita went on to release her third single 'Be Patient' with the music giant, Universal Music Group and the song currently has more than a million views on India's favourite media consumption app, YouTube. 2019 also witnessed the release of her debut EP 'Nothing Of Our Own' which further bolstered her career as the music video for the title song of the EP amassed over 400K views. Towards the end of last year, to top it all off, she managed to get her latest track 'Troubled Land' placed in the soundtrack of the new Bollywood movie "Bypass Road", thus establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.  Natania Natania as always spent the year travelling between India and Los Angeles but during the time she wasn't in an aeroplane, she was busy collecting accolades & praise from people all around the world for the tremendous work that she put in last year. Jingle writing being something that she's not appreciated for enough, in my opinion, is the area where she really shone, responsible for writing/composing/singing the most catchy jingle of the year, the Nykaa theme song is just one of the many amazing tasks that Natania managed to pull off in 2019. Releasing multiple singles like 'Muscle Memory' and 'Honey', she was able to bag features in publications like Rolling Stone India and Cosmopolitan India. JioSaavn also put her on the cover of their "Under The Radar - Pop" Playlist and thanks to her extremely dedicated fanbase, Natania's Spotify stats clocked in at 5.4 Million streams and 1.2 Million listeners at the end of last year. Putting together all of her favourite memories from 2019, she posted an update on her social handles which highlighted all such achievements, check it out.  Dropped Out Mumbai based one-man electronic act 'Dropped Out' is the person who generated a lot of buzz in the electronic scene around his name in 2019. Dropping a guest mix for Nucleya's Show on BBC Asian Network as well as for Krunk, Rishi also opened for the German DJ, Parra For Cuva this year at the Mumbai leg of his India Tour. 2019 marks as a big step forward in his journey as a musician as he managed to go from putting out chill bangers on SoundCloud to not only officially releasing and distributing his tracks on other major streaming platforms but also gaining an actual fanhood of 52K listeners spanned over 79 countries on Spotify with total streams capping at almost 200K. The young lad also plans to focus on releasing projects involving his own vocals as he has found a new love for singing and experimenting with his voice. Neha Kakkar The famous musician behind hits like "Kala Chashma" and "Main Tera Boyfriend", Neha Kakkar is one of the three judges on the show India Idol Season 11 which started airing during the year 2019. Neha provided 6 playback songs to Bollywood movies during the last year and achieved the tremendous accolade of being the #1 artist on the streaming app Gaana surpassing Arijit Singh by almost 200 Million streams. In recent news, Neha also decided to donate 2 Lakh rupees to one of the Indian Idol contestants upon being completely moved by his performance.
