The production, Ahuti- Musical echoes of Sita and Draupadi: A mythology-based Indian Classical musical on women empowerment, was launched at the Wimbledon Library, London recently.
The dignitaries present were Director of London Nehru Centre Amish Tripathi, Director of Sama Arts UK Jay Viswadeva, Mayor of Merton Cllr Michael Brunt, Director of Music Room Wembley Rahamat Simab Based on the journey of Sita and Draupadi, the new musical Ahuti- Musical echoed of Sita and Draupadi will bear Kalakar Arts’ signature - Hindustani Classical music and acting at its flawless best. And to raise the majestic appeal further up, it will be aptly laced by a world-class Kathak recital.
The program featured Indrani Datta, famous Kathak dancer based in the UK, eminent journalist and elocutionist Arundhati Mukherje along with Founder and Director of Kalakar Arts UK, Chandra Chakraborty also the artistic director and overall production head of this musical. Young talented Amith Dey provided vocal support and background music. Junaid Ali, a talented percussion player accompanied him on the Tabla.
