British Council’s Selector Pro Presents Weekend Masterclass for Emerging Music Professionals in India
British Council’s Selector Pro, in partnership with India’s first comprehensive institute of contemporary music True School of Music, is organising a two- day workshop to promote cross-generational music innovation and offer a platform to emerging musicians and music professionals to co-create, learn and share. The weekend workshop will enable music enthusiasts, professionals, musicians, and those inclined with deep insights into the process of scoring music for visuals, the business of film music and the emerging career opportunities in creating music for visual media in India and beyond. It will also provide an opportunity to interact with and learn from leading music professionals, from the UK and India. The career prospects in commercial music production for visual media are immense and the weekend masterclass series is a golden opportunity to learn the nuances of building a career in music production for film and other visual media. Through this masterclass series, participants will be able to recognise the different commercial visual media formats, identify the skills required to compose and produce music for visuals, determine basic equipment and software required to create music for visuals and learn about the business of music for visuals. The experts who will be leading the sessions include India's leading lady musician - Merlin D’souza, BAFTA Breakthrough Brit - Nainita Desai, Head of Music Production & Piano Department - Aki Spadaro, leading contemporary music composer - Alokananda Dasgupta and media and entertainment lawyer - Priyanka Khimani.
