AI music platform Suno is exploring the launch of a developer API, a move that could allow third-party developers to integrate its AI music-generation capabilities into their own applications for the first time. The initiative is aimed at fostering new experiences built around generative music.
The company's Chief Product Officer, Jack Brody, revealed the plans in a LinkedIn post, inviting developers to apply for early access through an intake form. Suno said it intends to begin with a curated group of partners before expanding the program more broadly.
According to Brody, the company is particularly interested in applications that "unlock experiences generative music makes possible for the first time," describing the API as an early step toward Suno's upcoming "partner-powered model."
Suno currently does not offer an official public API. If introduced, the developer interface would enable external apps to send text prompts directly to Suno's AI models and receive fully generated music in return, allowing developers to build AI-powered music creation into their own products instead of relying on Suno's web platform or app.
The company has not announced a timeline for the API's wider rollout, saying it will first work closely with a limited group of partners to shape the offering before a broader launch.
