It`s indeed a proud moment for India as musician Ricky Kej won his third Grammy Award on Monday for the album `Divine Tides` with rock-legend Stewart Copeland. The Bengaluru-based Indian music composer and producer won the award for `Divine Tides` as he was nominated in the Best Immersive Audio Album category. The result was announced at the live ceremony held at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, USA.
At the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, the duo earned the gramophone trophy in the best immersive audio album winner category.They had won a Grammy in the best new age album category for the same album last year.
After bagging the trophy, Kej took to Twitter and expressed joy on his win. He wrote, "Just won my 3rd Grammy Award. Extremely grateful, am speechless! I dedicate this Award to India. @copelandmusic. Herbert Waltl Eric Schilling Vanil Veigas Lonnie Park."
Ricky is the youngest person from India to have won a Grammy Award, and only the 4th Indian. Kej took home his first Grammy in the best new age album category for 'Winds of Samsara' back in 2015.
Meanwhile, Stewart Copeland is a 5-time Grammy Award-winning American musician and composer. He is the founder and drummer of the British rock group 'The Police' who have sold over 75 million albums worldwide.
As part of his work with The Police, Copeland has won five Grammys. With Kej as collaborator, this is his second award.
