Club FM Launches ‘Amplified’, Kerala’s First Radio Show Dedicated To Independent Music

Club FM, Kerala’s OG content creator and a prominent voice in the state’s entertainment landscape, has launched ‘Amplified’, a new radio IP dedicated entirely to independent music.

The initiative aims to give Kerala’s diverse indie music community a dedicated platform, bringing emerging artists, fresh sounds and original music to audiences across the state.

‘Amplified’ will cover independent music from Kerala, India and across the world, featuring artists ranging from Hozier and FINNEAS to Indian names such as Hanumankind, Aksomaniac and Shanka Tribe. The IP will also spotlight homegrown acts including Thaikkudam Bridge, Avial, Masala Coffee and Job Kurian, alongside emerging artists seeking a wider audience.

From Radio to Video and Live

The IP will roll out across three formats, radio, video and on-ground experiences.

The radio show, hosted by RJ Carl, will air every Friday from 7 PM to 9 PM across Club FM stations. It will feature independent music and introduce listeners to artists and sounds from Kerala, India and beyond.

The video extension will take the IP to Club FM’s social platforms through artist interviews, conversations and exclusive jam sessions, offering audiences a closer look at the musicians and their creative journeys.

The third phase will take ‘Amplified’ offline, culminating in the launch of the first ‘Amplified’ festival next year, bringing independent artists and music audiences together on one platform.

N Jayakrishnan, General Manager, Club FM, said the ambition is to build more than a radio show and create a platform that grows alongside independent artists and audiences.

“With ‘Amplified,’ we wanted to build more than just a radio show. Independent music deserves a platform that can grow with the artists and the audience, which is why the IP will come alive across three avatars—radio, video and on-ground,” he said.

According to Jayakrishnan, the initiative will begin with radio discovery before expanding through social content and eventually a live festival.

“At its core, ‘Amplified’ is about giving great music the audience it deserves. If it’s great music and deserves more ears, we’ll Amplify it,” he added.
