Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup Awarded Honorary Doctorate By Maharishi European Research University

Emmy-nominated producer, entrepreneur and Chairman of Creativeland Asia Group, Dr. Sajan Raj Kurup has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) in Vedic Science, Consciousness and Human Development by the Maharishi European Research University (MERU), Switzerland.

The honorary doctorate recognises Kurup’s sustained efforts to bridge storytelling, entrepreneurship and Indian knowledge systems while advancing projects that seek to create cultural, educational and social impact.

Over the past two decades, Kurup has built Creativeland Asia into one of India’s leading independent creative enterprises, producing award-winning work across advertising, entertainment and media. His work increasingly focuses on using storytelling to elevate Indian civilisation, spirituality and values for global audiences.

His recent feature film Krishnavataram reflects this commitment by presenting the timeless philosophy of Lord Krishna to contemporary audiences through cinema. Beyond filmmaking, Kurup has actively supported initiatives that encourage cultural preservation, consciousness studies and purpose-driven leadership.
