Bollywood Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh Quits As Music Reality Show Brand Ambassador Over Unpaid Fees

Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has resigned as the brand ambassador of the music reality show Universal Idol following a dispute over unpaid payments, the actor announced on social media.

In a post shared on his official channels, Mukesh stated that organisers HMC Events failed to honour agreed fees, with three cheques issued to him bouncing due to insufficient funds. He described the incident as “a serious breach of trust and commitment.” Despite repeated assurances and follow-ups from his team, Mukesh said there was no resolution, prompting his decision to step away.

Mukesh also confirmed he has withdrawn from all present and future associations with Universal Idol, HMC Events and involved individuals, effective immediately. He cautioned fellow artists, partners, vendors and collaborators to exercise due diligence concerning claims, commitments and payment assurances in the entertainment industry. Mukesh added that he reserves the right to pursue legal remedies.

The actor, known for his work in films such as Johnny Gaddaar, New York and 7 Khoon Maaf, has been active in Hindi cinema for over two decades and comes from a family with deep musical roots.
