Bianca Mendonca Marks 10 Years At NCPA, Reflects On Journey With Symphony Orchestra Of India

Bianca Mendonca has completed a decade at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), marking the milestone with a reflective note on her journey in India’s performing arts ecosystem.

Currently serving as General Manager for the Symphony Orchestra, Mendonca shared that her association with music was not something she initially envisioned as part of her professional life. However, her time at the NCPA, particularly working with the Symphony Orchestra of India, has made the journey especially meaningful.

“Never thought music would become part of my everyday work, but I’m glad it did,” she noted, adding that the experience has been both enriching and transformative.

Over the past decade, Mendonca has been closely associated with the growth and positioning of the Symphony Orchestra of India, one of the country’s premier orchestral ensembles, housed at the NCPA in Mumbai. Her role has involved overseeing operations and contributing to the institution’s broader vision of promoting high-quality performing arts in India.

Expressing gratitude, Mendonca acknowledged the people and opportunities that shaped her tenure, along with the leadership of Khushroo Suntook, under whom she described her journey as a continuous learning experience.
