Composer Shashwat Sachdev, who has gained widespread attention following the success of the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, is reportedly being considered for Jr NTR’s upcoming film ‘Dragon’, directed by Prashanth Neel.
If confirmed, the project would mark another significant step in Sachdev’s expansion into Telugu cinema. However, the film’s makers have not officially announced his association with the project.
Producer Abhishek Agarwal, who is introducing Sachdev to Telugu cinema with ‘The India House’, has expressed his interest in seeing the composer collaborate with more Telugu filmmakers. Speaking about the possibility of Sachdev working on ‘Dragon’, Agarwal told Deccan Chronicle, “I don’t know much about it, but I wish he does more Telugu films and raises the bar of Telugu cinema. I will have that credit, and I am quite happy to work with such a talented musician, who has now become an international star.”
Agarwal also spoke about Sachdev’s work on ‘The India House’, starring Nikhil Siddhartha and Sai Manjrekar. The composer has reportedly created four songs for the period drama, each with a distinct musical style.
“He has delivered four chartbusters. We have already shot three songs, and each of them is different and refreshing for our period saga,” Agarwal said.
Sachdev’s work on the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise has also drawn attention to the commercial potential of its music. According to reports cited by Times of India, the franchise’s music business is estimated at around Rs 300 crore. Tracks such as ‘Mann Atkeya’ and the title track have contributed to the soundtrack’s popularity.
Meanwhile, ‘Dragon’ brings together Jr NTR and filmmaker Prashanth Neel for the first time. The reported development around Sachdev’s possible involvement has generated interest in the film’s music, although the nature of his contribution remains unclear.
With his reported consideration for the project, Sachdev could be adding another major Telugu film to his growing slate, following ‘The India House’.
