Bass Camp Has Been A Key Factor In Promoting Reggae & Bass Music In India

Bass Camp has been responsible for bringing and spreading the culture of Reggae & Bass Music like wildfire in the Indian electronic music scene and we asked Sohail Arora, Founder and main man, Krunk whether he realized the potential of these bass-heavy genres back when the festival began? “I got exposed to a lot of drum & bass in 2008, 2009 when I went to London and because of venues in Mumbai like Blue FROG & Zenzi where we experimented with DnB & Dubstep back then. I personally loved the energy in the music & my love for basslines took me closer to bass music as a whole. I can safely say we have consistently pushed all kinds of bass forms since then and have got it to where it is today. It's a healthy scene now” This is one of those festivals that consistently has managed to pull like-minded people together to enter the vortex of bass-heavy Electronica, Dubstep and DnB yet, somehow have managed to do so without charging exorbitant prices considering the serious weight of their line-up. Which makes me wonder, does constantly bringing such massive artists put more pressure to raise the bar with every edition? “Of Course, it does but that's what makes it fun! The idea behind the festival has not been to bring big ticket selling names rather artists/producers that are pushing the envelope with bass all across the world. We are super excited to host international acts like Om Unit, Kutmah, The Whooligan & Sosupersam this year.” said Sohail in an interview to Loudest.
