From stand-up punchlines to live music sets, Mastercard is reimagining its multi-city concert series in India by introducing a hybrid format that blends comedy and music, reflecting shifting audience preferences.
The latest edition features a diverse line-up, including comedians Vir Das and Zakir Khan, alongside singer Papon. The move marks a shift from earlier music-led editions that hosted global and Indian acts such as Enrique Iglesias, A. R. Rahman and Sunidhi Chauhan.
Curated in partnership with TribeVibe Entertainment and EVA Live, the revamped series aims to create a more immersive cultural platform by combining humour, storytelling and music into a single live experience.
The comedy leg will kick off in New Delhi, where Vir Das is scheduled to perform four shows over May 9–10 at Yashobhoomi. Zakir Khan will follow with an extended run in Mumbai, staging nine shows across multiple dates in June at Dome SVP Stadium, with additional performances expected.
On the music side, Papon will headline a six-city tour beginning in Chandigarh on May 16, followed by stops in Ahmedabad and Lucknow in late May. The tour will continue to Bengaluru and Hyderabad in early June, before concluding in Indore on June 14.
The series also continues to offer exclusive benefits for Mastercard cardholders, including priority ticket access and premium lounge experiences, positioning it as both an entertainment and lifestyle platform.
Beyond entertainment, the initiative carries a social impact component. In collaboration with Learning Links Foundation, Mastercard has enabled nearly 90 students from underserved communities across multiple cities to attend live events, aiming to spark interest in careers within the experience economy.
As live entertainment in India evolves toward more immersive formats, Mastercard’s latest edition underscores a growing trend: audiences today are seeking multi-dimensional experiences that combine music, comedy and storytelling into a single outing.
