The esteemed literary organisation Poetry Society of India as a collaborator unveiled the latest poetry collection, Medusa and Other Poems by renowned poet, artist, and filmmaker Sangeeta Gupta on Thursday, May 8th, 2025 at Conference Room No. 1, India International Centre, New Delhi. The event was a celebration of poetic imaginations and artistic spirit. The launch was an evening of dialogue, reflection, and literary exploration, aimed at connecting Gupta's evocative work with a wider audience. Known for her ability to intertwine mythological themes with personal and cosmic narratives, Gupta's poetry collection is anticipated to offer profound insights into universal human experiences.

Among the many dignitaries and literary greats were present at the event were Ambassador Amrendra Khatua, former IFS officer and Director General of ICCR, poet and editor Sukrita Paul Kumar; translator and academic Radha Chakravarty; writer and poet Mandira Ghosh, Sangeeta Gupta. The inaugural ceremony was followed by a lively panel discussion.

The cover of the book Medusa and Other Poems features an abstract indigo colour painting by Sangeeta Gupta. This painting resembles an eye-like vortex, evoking themes of myth and inner awakening that are reflected throughout the collection. Sangeeta Gupta, a poet, writer, artist, and filmmaker, has crafted yet another volume that seamlessly bridges myth, the cosmos, and personal insight.

Sangeeta Gupta said, "Art and poetry are my offerings to the cosmos—a way to transform pain into purpose, silence into song, and memory into meaning."
