Gorillaz Announce First-Ever India Tour With District by Zomato For 2027 Shows

In a landmark moment for Indian music fans, globally acclaimed virtual band Gorillaz is set to perform live in India for the very first time. Created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the BRIT and GRAMMY Award-winning act will bring The Mountain Tour to India in early 2027, in collaboration with District by Zomato.

The tour will span two cities, with performances scheduled at District Arena @ Terraform in Bengaluru on January 23, 2027, and at Jio World Garden, BKC in Mumbai on January 27, 2027.

The India leg follows the release of the band’s ninth studio album, The Mountain, a project deeply inspired by India and featuring collaborations with celebrated artists such as Asha Bhosle, Anoushka Shankar, Ajay Prasanna, Asha Puthli, Amaan Ali Bangash, and Ayaan Ali Bangash.

Pre-sale tickets for Mastercard cardholders will be available exclusively on the District app from April 13 to April 18, 2026, followed by general ticket sales opening on April 18. The platform will also offer a “Reserve Now, Pay Later” option, allowing fans to secure tickets with partial payment.

The announcement comes on the back of a successful international run and marks a significant milestone as Albarn and Hewlett bring their genre-defying virtual band to Indian stages. Albarn expressed his long-standing desire to bring Gorillaz to India, calling it a dream finally realised, while Hewlett noted the excitement of touring cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Rahul Ganjoo, CEO of District by Zomato, described the tour as a “momentous” occasion, highlighting the unique connection between The Mountain and India. He added that the live shows will offer audiences a rare opportunity to experience a globally celebrated act that has seamlessly integrated Indian musical influences into its sound.

Known for its immersive live shows blending music, visuals, and storytelling, Gorillaz has built a legacy over 25 years with iconic tracks like “Feel Good Inc.,” “Clint Eastwood,” and “On Melancholy Hill.” With The Mountain Tour, Indian audiences can expect a genre-spanning, visually rich concert experience that brings the band’s virtual universe to life on stage.

With this debut, Gorillaz further expands its global footprint, adding India to its extensive touring history while deepening its artistic connection with the country.
