The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is set to mark International Jazz Day with a special evening led by acclaimed Singaporean vocalist Alemay Fernandez. Known for her distinctive blend of jazz, soul, and contemporary influences, Fernandez will bring an immersive musical experience that celebrates the spirit and global legacy of jazz.

Scheduled to take place at the Tata Theatre on April 30, 2026, at 7:00 pm, the concert is presented as part of NCPA’s ongoing efforts to spotlight world-class live music and cultural programming.

A veteran of the Asian jazz circuit with a career spanning over 25 years, Alemay Fernandez stands out as the only Asian jazz singer to have performed with globally renowned ensembles such as the Count Basie Orchestra, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Over the years, she has also shared the stage with celebrated artistes including David Foster, Gregory Porter, and Incognito.

Fernandez continues to maintain a strong international presence, regularly headlining leading jazz venues across cities such as New York City, San Francisco, and Boston. Widely recognised for her sultry tone and commanding stage presence, her performances are known to be both dynamic and deeply engaging.
