As SOS’s first-ever official Brand Ambassador, Chatpat will promote the NGO’s #NoChildAlone campaign.
SOS Children’s Villages of India, the country’s largest self-implementing NGO in the domain of holistic childcare and development, today announced their brand ambassador for their ‘NoChildAlone’ Campaign that reiterates the organization’s Basket of Care Solutions initiative. Chatpat is the first-ever official Brand Ambassador of SOS Children’s Villages of India.
Chatpat, the fresh new celebrity in the social media domain, is a 10-year-old from Mumbai who is sharing ‘gyaan’ or wisdom about life that will give all adults a run for their money. His chirpy and pithy words of wisdom is getting him followers across platforms and bringing the spotlight on his street-smart solutions to life for all. Currently being followed as #Chatpatkagyaan on LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter, Chatpat is winning hearts by the sheer simplicity of his delivery and genuine, quirky wisdom.
Chatpatkagyaan went online for the first time on this Children’s Day and ever since his popularity has soared. In just a week, Chatpat has garnered over 3 million views and over 20.5k followers on Instagram in less than a week. Many celebrity influencers have also encouraged him with shoutouts on their social media platforms. SOS Children’s Villages of India noticed Chatpat on social media and were impressed by his inherent maturity and simplicity of expression. The organisation felt that a child, who is learning on the streets every day is best placed to fight for other children who need a safe, caring and loving environment, aimed at holistic growth and development. Chatpat is also keen to promote his own gang of kids who tag along with him in his videos.
The NGO feels that Chatpat can bring attention to the issue of vulnerable children who need taking care of very effectively if he were to address the larger community and focus on creating awareness and sensitivity towards the issue. India had close to 30 million orphaned or abandoned children. In just last one year of pandemic, over 30,000 children were orphaned. *
Speaking about the association with Chatpat, Sumanta Kar, Secretary General, SOS Children’s Villages of India said, “Chatpat presents a slice-of-life commentary that appeals to adults and clearly, he has caught up with life a bit too early. He is a confident and happy lad, who is willing to support others. We found this quality in him very endearing and realized that he will be able to invoke support for children who come from vulnerable backgrounds that SOS Children’s Villages of India serves. We look forward to learning from him and working with him towards our mission of #NoChildAlone and reiterating our Basket of Care Solutions initiative designed to cater to the needs of a child by helping with the right care model for the child to grow up as his or her strongest self.”
Expressing excitement, Chatpat in his inimitable style, said, "Abhi tak apun sirf apne gang ke liye chabi kiya, ab apun SOS Children’s Villages ke liye chabi karega. Unka funda sahi hai - "No child alone" Ab SOS aur Chatpat saath mein machane waale hain."(So far, I've only helped my gang, but now I will be helping SOS Children's Villages too. I like their philosophy of "No Child Alone". Now SOS and Chatpat will do some exciting work together) The organisation has since taken upon itself to fund Chatpat’s education.
