Consensys based Ujo Music Finally Enters The Indian Music Industry Landscape
New York-based Consensys, an epicentre for Ethereum Blockchain technology, has entered India and is looking to grow the Ethereum Blockchain ecosystem in the country. Last week, the company officially celebrated the opening of their office in Delhi. The launch included their first blockchain training program in the country at IIT's Hackathon.

What is Etherium?

Ethereum is a global computer network with its own virtual currency called ‘ether’. One would need ‘ether’ to pay other computers on the network to complete tasks. It is not free to use the network. ‘Ether’ is sometimes referred to as a virtual cousin of ‘bitcoin’, a popular cryptocurrency. Consensys was founded three years ago by Joseph Lubin, who is the co-founder of the ethereum blockchain network. It has offices in more than 23 countries, with about 700 employees on its rolls. Joseph Lubin was in India last week for the launch of the company in India and actively participated in the Hackathon.

Ujo Music

Ujo Music is an Ethereum based, ConsenSys backed music software services company for the modern economic landscape of music. The Ujo platform uses blockchain technology to create a transparent and decentralized database of rights and rights owners, automating royalty payments using smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Natalia Romiszewski, who works with the music vertical for Consensys driven Ujo Music was also visiting with the global team. She see's India as a great opportunity for change and is excited to work in the Indian market.
