HCL announced the launch of HCL Maestros in Studio. The online series is a live online music series shot live at Peninsular Studios. It is an audiovisual presentation of Indian Classical Music showcasing both the Hindustani and Carnatic traditions. This program celebrates young artists who are supremely talented and very well known in their respective geographies and will be maestros in the coming years.
The most interesting and attractive aspect of HCL Maestros in Studio is that classical music which hasn't been most popular with the young adults has been presented in a much more young adult friendly manner. The show gives the audience a musical experience that is grammatically undiluted, easy to comprehend, and accessible from the very confines of their comfort zones, be it home, office or during travel.
The Shortlisting Process
The HCL Maestros in Studio spent a lot of time in research and A&R, looking for talent in the farthest and remote parts of the country. The team then helped these artists by providing them with a carefully-constructed platform that would package their music with audio-visual finesse in order to attract younger audience to the genre. Over 300 musicians were identified, out of whom 100 were screened in great detail and finally 37 artists were selected to become the torchbearers of the future of Indian classical music.
The project has yielded a huge repository of over around 650 minutes of extremely high-quality audio and video content. Five cameras were used to accurately record a wide range of the artists' expressions and emotions and the audio was recorded in perfect sound settings. HCL believes that this will go a long way towards creating new benchmarks for the presentation of classical music in India.
